Château Monconseil-Gazin

Château Monconseil-Gazin

  • Elaboration:

In Plassac, one of the best sites on the limestone escarpment of Blaye; clay/limestone soils and gravel subsoil give excellent drainage and deep rooting systems; south and south-west facing slopes ensure optimal ripening and maturity.

  • Blend: Merlot (100 %)
  • Maturation: Bottled at the estate
  • Terroir:

First vineyard in Blaye to be independently audited and certified under the TERRA VITIS regime for sustainable viticulture. No chemicals - organic fertilizers only, treatments based on observation; encouragement of biodiversity and inter-row vegetation. Bud pruning, green harvesting and de-leafing for optimal fruit/leaf canopy balance where appropriate. Harvesting at optimal ripeness.

  • Tasting Notes:

Intense aroma predominantly fruity and floral, volume and freshness in the mouth. Serve chilled at 8-10 ° C. As an aperitif, or with grills, plancha or Asian cuisine. Drink at the latest in the 2 years to come.

The label comes from a sketch offered by the famous cartoonist GUS (1911-1997) to thank us for his stay at the château in 1989. We pay tribute to him through "Mon Rosé" and all fans of the " farniente", a certain lifestyle and other little summer pleasures.
